Summary/Abstract: Transition is defined as the process that represents an important move from one environment to another. Transition to school is a new experience for children and their family as well as a challenge that involves several socio-emotional and behavioural areas. It is not a one-off activity but a long-term process. This is a complex phenomenon, especially for children with disabilities, which requires coordination of activities and cooperation between education, health and social services and active involvement of parents. Only active and coordinated cooperation can have a significant impact on the child's healthy development, school readiness and educational outcomes. Not only children with disabilities but also their families, their teachers, and school personnel need support in the readiness for successful transition to school. The article is focused on main participants influencing the transition: child, parents, teachers, and their activities and expectations.
