Motivation by Example of Well-known Natural Scientists in Primary Education

Summary/Abstract: Nowadays we are witnessing on one hand an ever greater development of technology and its growing influence on our everyday lives, on the other hand a paradoxical decrease of interest in natural sciences in our students. It’s impossible to increase the students’ interest in natural sciences and engineering without sparking it in younger students. One of the motivating factors may be the lives of interesting personalities of science, their successes and the obstacles they so often had to overcome. In this article, we will focus on personalities associated with natural sciences, technical inventions, but also with Slovakia as such.
