Summary/Abstract: The article constitutes an attempt at describing the venue of the family education initiative “At King Matt the First’s Place” as well as the exhibition “In the Poland of King Matt the First. The 100th anniversary of regaining independence” at the POLIN Museum of Jewish History–spaces inspired by the pedagogical reflection of Janusz Korczak. The author showcases how the educational turn visible in contemporary museology translates into a conception of the museum spaces created for children, which draws heavily on contemporary theories of education, starting with John Dewey’s constructivism, through Janusz Korczak’s pedagogy, to the popular Scandinavian models of upbringing and education.
