Summary/Abstract: In this article I analyze the structure and topics of the volume "Vremuri noi, vremuri vechi. Jurnal 2007-2013", by Mihail Radu Solcan. The author of the volume is one of the first professors of applied ethics in Romania after 1990, who taught at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Bucharest. Including some of the notes and observations written in the period 2007-2013, the diary covers a huge area of topics, from brief reviews and notes on the author's encyclopedic readings, to meditations on topics of political philosophy (with extended incursions in the area of libertarianism and communism), concerns related to the role and place of philosophers and philosophy in the world and in Romania, ruminations about buying antique books and the best methods to study the languages of the world, notes about computer programs and meditations on death.
