Summary/Abstract: Sofia Meteş, wife of the historian Ştefan Meteş, was, during the interwar, one of the most active and worthy representatives of the interwar Romanian society in Cluj. The Romanian Women’s Group from Cluj was established after the Great Union. Romanian Orthodox women parted ways with the Greek Catholic St. Mary’s Reunion, and organized a branch of the National Orthodox Society of Romanian Women, established in 1910 in Bucharest. The Romanian Women’s Group from Cluj, whose president was, in 1934, Sofia Şt. Meteş, proved to be a real moral force during the interwar period, through the charitable actions undertaken in support of the entire community of Cluj. She has brought a fresh breath of moral life, of selfless Christianity, of mobilizing and promoting the feminine virtues, which can always fill a void in the civilization of our age. The activity of the Romanian Women’s Group in Cluj is highlighted in this article by presenting some activity reports
