Zur Äquivalenz des kulinarischen Fachwortschatzes im deutsch-polnischen Vergleich

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the comparison of German and Polish culinary language. 664 German and Polish pairs of lexemes were dissected. These lexems are alike or close to alike in both languages according to graphemic structure. The aim of the semantic analysis was to identify the level of equivalence of the lexemes. The results of the analysis confirm the high level of equivalence and adequacy of the special culinary terms. In spite of this result, it can be pointed out that there are a few examples of false friends and there are differences in usage of the particular representatives of a lexeme pair.
