Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present the cognitive taxonomy applied in the educational practice, its goals and programs. Implementation of the cognitive function development concept may be assumed as the basis of the school reform in Slovakia. The theory of cognitive enhancing learning of pupils is conected with teaching styles and its effectiveness should be monitored.
