Summary/Abstract: Kazys Ulvydas' contribution to Kalbos kultūra (Culture of Language) is noteworthy. He is best known as a good manager and editor-in-chief of the journal. No less important are his articles published in the same journal. Part of them are on the journal itself, others focus on the general issues of language usage and standardization. Ulvydas was also interested in the relation between language and society as well as ways to promote the language culture. He considered school as the most important and best way of promotion. He was also interested in different areas of language use focusing on the language of the press.
