Summary/Abstract: The paper examines prenarrative structures (dites, according to Von Sydow), by which the notion of the heroic is materialized in the urban folklore culture. We suppose that these forms are genetically more archaic compared to the narratives spread in the classic folklore culture. They do not reproduce authentic information about the historical persons, but are explications of certain heroic social roles. Five types cliché-biography is distinguished on the basis of the hero’s social roles grounded on the simple forms: myth, legend, sagas, tale and memorabile. Every one of these biographies has its own cliché-plot, possesses certain social function, holds specific model of the expected reception and answers to a concrete social problem. Similar interpretation favors the reconstruction of the challenges, to which the use of the matrices represent an answer in the Bulgarian culture.
