Summary/Abstract: This study is dedicated to the principle of good faith in Bulgarian and German civil law. Attention is paid to the questions of the essence and the application field of this principle according to the German theory due to the influence on the Bulgarian theory and the closeness between the legal regulations. Issues of the relationship between good faith, on the one hand, and other categories such as equity, good manners, customary practice and abuse of rights are also addressed.
