Summary/Abstract: The power of a modern country is no longer measured by the size of its population, territory or economy, but by the level of integration of that country in different international structures and the number and quality of relations it develops with different allies and partners. In this context, cultural relations are meant to support the development of trust among states. Regarding the cultural ties between Romania and the Russian Federation, they experienced several stages: after the '90s, these relations were not a priority on the agenda of the two states, and after the annexation of Crimea in 2014 the relationships between the two countries became even more distanced, but the development of the digital environment also offers support to the promotion of cultural interests.
