When speaking of somatic phrasemes, cognitive linguistic aspect is used to try to resolve a dilemma why a certain lexeme denoting a part of the human body is a somatic component of a certain phraseme. The objective of this paper is to analyze the motivation behind the meaning of Turkish somatic phraseme with the lexeme dil (tongue) as a component. Besides, Turkish phrasemes in this paper where the lexeme dil (tongue) functions as a somatic component are compared to similar phrasemes in Bosnian language.
