Summary/Abstract: The article evokes events and people from 1945-1947. The first part mentions the death of the artist Constantin Tănase. In 1947, the writer Ioan Massoff, the most important historian of Romanian theater, printed a book entitled The Life of Tănase, published by “Vatra” Publishing House, where he deals extensively with the last days of Tănase’s life and the cause of his death on August 29, 1945. Massoff has a completely different perspective for the end of Constantin Tănase. The second part of the article captures various moments and events from those years, when communism had not yet been fully established in Romania.
