Summary/Abstract: Foreign exchange reserves are part of the assets of a central bank and a country that are used in case of external crises and to preserve the economy. In the paper is reviewed the role the foreign reserves in maintaining the foreign exchange rate stability and the influence they have on the financial and economic policy implementation.
