Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to decide wheather utterences: (1) {Ta walizka jest ciężka jak kamień., (2) Ta walizka jest ciężka jak piórko., (3) Ta walizka jest ciężka jak plecak}. present one type of comparison structure. The autor cames to the conclusion that in fact there are two different types of strucures used regardless cluose formal analogy. One has the sense of intensification and the other - of identification. In the sentense (2) the intensificational strucure is used in ironic way.
