Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to examine, comparatively, Swift’s poem Waves and Woolf’s novel The Waves, mainly from the point of view of form and content, by taking into account the issues of monism and dualism as presented by Leech and Short. How different is, in terms of form, a poem from a poetic novel?
