Summary/Abstract: The essay, which continues a previous investigation published in Vatra no. 8-9/2020, further retraces the evolution of Franco Moretti’s thought, focusing on the years 1990s and the opposite manifestations of Moretti’s most important categories from this period – the novel and the anti-novel of the ‘modern epic’, as well as on the beginnings of his ‘distant reading’ paradigm shift.
