Summary/Abstract: Former socialist economies, from their beginings to the end of 80-ties, put special emphasis on industrial development. Industry was leading economic branch in their economic structures and had the major influence on their development. Entering the transition process, industries in these countries faced numerous problems, which lead to a huge decline of industrial production with numerous economic and social consequences, cessation of production in some branches and numerous industrial enterprise. In this paper, author stand for the further development of industry in these countries, of course taking into account changed conditions at local and global level. Without developed industry these countries could remain undeveloped and dependant on industrially developed part of the world. New approach (and policy) of industrial development should rely on cooperation and attraction of the capital of multinational companies which dominated in the world industry; fostering development of domestic industrial enterprises by using the available resources for industrial development and devloping the various forms of production and other forms of cooperation with foreign industries and industrial interprises.
