Summary/Abstract: This article introduces some of the key aspects of gender equality in employment. The legislative framework for achieving equality between women and men in employment has been outlined. Employment rate indicators and gender pay gap in the European Union are examined. Based on the analysis, some key conclusions and recommendations have been made to achieve equality between women and men.
