The evolution of transformative learning theory

Summary/Abstract: The article introduces Polish readers to the theory of transformative learning and shows its main conversions at the turn of the years. The original Jack Mezirow’s concept has become a subject of lively discussion and deep criticism since it was developed. The comments led to numerous amendments made by the author himself, so the theory became more wider and comprehensive. The aim of the essay is to show the evolution of the idea of transformation in learning and the synthesis of the current state of knowledge in this area.
