Summary/Abstract: Breakthroughs in biographies could happen in different situations, in different reasons, contexts. Each human can also experience them differently. Jack Mezirow tried to systemize deep changes which are a part of human’s life in his transformative learning theory. In that case, a breakthrough is a perspective transformation and making decisions based on critical reflection on and of individual assumptions, which leads to modifications in everyday behaviour. In the article, authoress is undertaking an attempt of drawing the phenomena of breakthrough in biography according to Mezirow’s theory.
