Regaining the Imagination for a (Complex) Future

Summary/Abstract: Nowak combines an ontological sensitivity with post-humanism and the so-called ontological turn with the modernist postulate of a (sociological) imagination. His aimis to develop a concept of the imagination that allows for ontological analysis without compromising the possibility of formulating axiological propositions. The imagination described here is a form of rethinking the heritage of the Enlightenment and modernityin a reflective way so that the humanities and social sciences can regain their functionas cultural guides in our exceedingly complex modern world.
