Summary/Abstract: The role of a manager is a complex matter. In addition to professional activities, the fundamental component of managerial work is at the same time closely related to cooperation with people, including their motivation. That represent some amount of emotions that a manager can successfully master through multiple predictors and capabilities. The aim of the paper is to point out the importance and influence of manager personality on the motivation of employees with a focus on manager’s emotional and social intelligence as an important part of the personality of the manager. Paper is based on secondary survey using available domestic and foreign literature, supplemented by primary information obtained from the structured interviews. During processing was used the methods of analysis, synthesis and comparison added by own opinions and recommendations. The findings clearly point to the fact that the personality of the manager, especially in the form of emotional and social intelligence, has truly strong and positive influence on employee’s motivation as well as other positive changes.
