Summary/Abstract: The article shows the images of mothers from selected works of Maria Kuncewiczowa.The analysis of the collected material showed how the writer creates the externalcharacter of the heroines, and above all, how she creates their psychological portraits, oftencomplicated, deviating from the usual patterns. The attention was paid to the language meansused to create and personalize the presented figures.
