Review of the book „Doughnut Economics“

Summary/Abstract: The author opines that the reviewed book provides a very successful summary of previous efforts to combine the issue of an ecologically-sustainable economy with that of social justice. The review praises, for example, the author's ability to concisely visualise the complicated contexts of the various topics discussed. At the same time, Jan Keller points out a number of weaknesses with respect to the reviewed publication − compared to other authors who have addressed the same topics, he lacks references to, for example, the works of Richard Douthwaite or Harman Daly. J. Keller would welcome a greater degree of thoroughness, for example, concerning the issue of the unconditional basic income or the potential for current megacities to enforce the principles of sustainable development.
