LIBERALISM AND RIGHTS OF NATURE

Summary/Abstract: In the paper, the author starts from liberalism, understood as an expression of general emancipation, tolerance of differences, respect of other people's rights, and demands made by efforts to expand those rights to other entities on Earth. In that respect, the liberal dilemma is emphasised: how to prove to the advocates of deep ecology that rights and liberties are only applicable to humans and how to convince the environmentalists that human rights should only serve the interests of the currently existing population.
