Summary/Abstract: The text analyses one of the most comprehensive monographs on the problems of tragicality, tragedy and the tragic, which have appeared in Poland in the last few decades. The contributors, representing almost all Polish academic centers, give multiple – aesthetic, genre, and philosophical – interpretations of meanings of the issues in question. Conclusions drawn from the studies seem important and valuable.
