Summary/Abstract: Six years after Prince Karol purchased Sinaia estate, in June 1877, he buys the Broșteni estate, formed after 1866, from Alecu Balș, with the price of 2 500000 lei, for a total surface of 44000 ha. Broșteni Royal Estate was bordered in 1894 to the Northand East with Bucovina, to the West with Dorna estate, to the South withTransylvania and Borca Royal Domain. The image of road infrastructure in Romania, at the end of the 19th century, is preserved suggestively by the Road Map from 1898 in which it can be observed that Broșteni Royal Estate was crossed by a rough national road (Mălini–Broșteni–Panaci, developing Mălini–Stânișoara section) and a local rough road (Borca–Rarău).The first church was built in 1752 on Broșteni estate, in Crucea. Around the year 1780 the second church was built in Broșteni village, nowadays included on the List of historical monuments from Suceava County: “St. Nicholas” wooden church. About the Rarău hermitage we know that in 1800 it was moved from the Bukovinian part of the Rarău Mountain to the Moldavian part. The school from Broșteni was one of the oldest primary schools in the whole country. It was founded in 1840 by the great chancellor Alecu Balș. In 1892, under the coordination of King Carol I, the construction of a new building for the school was completed. In the same time, a girls’school was set up beside the boys’ school. During the royal administration Broșteni registered many large scale transformations, thus the folowing administrative bodies could be found here: the City Hall, the Gendarmerie, the Subprefecture, thePeace Court, the Telegraph–Post Office and the “Carmen Sylva” County Hospital, established in 1898
