MODERNIZATION AND DESTRUCTION IN EASTERN CARPATHIANS. COMMUNICATIONS INFRASTRUCTURE IN THE YEARS OF THE FIRST WORLD WAR

Summary/Abstract: The study shows an image of the infrastructure and built heritage during the First World War, in the northern part of the country, on the border with Bucovina and Transylvania, especially in the Broșteni area. In the category of works aimed at developing the elements of local infrastructure, a special place was occupied by two Austro-German initiatives dedicated to railways. At least one objective built more than 110 years ago at the Royal Domain Brosteni, the hotel that had been transformed in September 1916 into a military hospital, is significant for the history and culture and national and universal civilization
