Summary/Abstract: Objectives: The article deals with women experiencing menopause; with the lifestyle of women in menopause and with the comparison of mutual connection of selected aspects of lifestyle with somatic and vasomotor symptoms of women. Material and methods: The research group consisted of 400 women who were aged 45-65, had permanent residence in the Czech Republic in the South Bohemian Region. a quantitative method was used for the research, 2 standardized questionnaires were used for data collection - a short version of the WHo Quality of Life questionnaire WHOQOL-BREF and the WHQ Women‘s Health questionnaire and 1 non-standardized questionnaire. The data were processed in the program Statistical Data Analysis (SASD) and SPSS, Kendall‘s correlation coefficient (Kendall‘s tau-c) and Cramer‘s test (Cramer‘s V) were used to assess the interrelationships. Results: Based on the analysis of the data, it was found that 22.5% (90) women made changes in the principles of maintaining a healthy lifestyle in menopause, 60.8% (243) women did not make any changes in their lifestyle, 16.8% ( 67) women were not aware of lifestyle changes. In women, a statistically significant association was demonstrated between selected aspects of lifestyle with only somatic symptoms. Conclusion: The principles of a healthy lifestyle occupy an important position in the issue of menopause. The work and influence of a midwife is therefore important for the community of menopausal women in education about the principles of a healthy lifestyle, including support and guidance to implement changes in women‘s lifestyles.
