Summary/Abstract: The size of the municipality where a person lives influences many aspects of their life, including health. The Czech Republic is facing a number of civilization diseases, especially cardiovascular. The costs on the prevention of cardiovascular diseases are mostly covered from one’s own financial sources. The goal of this study was to find out, describe and assess the links between the amount of monthly financial costs spent by the Czech citizens on the prevention of cardiovascular diseases (dietary supplements, sports activities, consultation regarding relaxation activities and consultation regarding healthy lifestyle) and the size of residence. The selected sample group included citizens of the Czech Republic from all regions regardless of age or gender. The sample group included 1,992 citizens. The research was carried out using the quantitative research strategy. The data collection was carried out in 2016 using a non-standardized questionnaire. Regarding preventative activities that influence the occurrence of cardiovascular diseases, the results of this research showed a statistically significant association between the size of residence and the financial amount invested in dietary supplements, sports activities and consultation regarding relaxation activities.
