Summary/Abstract: The pavement of the terracota-tesserae was commonly used in the Roman Empire as a more lasting and less expensive alternative than the mosaic. The spaces with such pavement ranged from public spaces in baths to private spaces for receiving guests or gardens. The article presents the techniques and construction methods of pavement tile sand it is based on the study of such items from Troesmis kept in the collections of the Institute of Archaeology „Vasile Pârvan”, București.
