Interview with Eszter Novák, the artistic director of the Szigligeti Theatre by Árpád Levente Biró

Summary/Abstract: Stage-director Eszter Novák is the art director of the Szigligeti Theatre from Oradea since 2015. Levente Biró Árpád asked Novák about the ordeals of the last pandemic year. Her experience as an art director allows her to put into shape the specific problems of her theatre in a manner which is valid for other Transylvanian theatres too, pertaining to the building of the company’s team, the strategy of the company to financially rely in the first place on the season-tickets and the education of the spectators. The dialogue also covers topics like the model-change within the Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest and the social crisis in a broader sense.
