Summary/Abstract: Documents found in the Gorj County Branch of the National Archives, one of which was already published by late researcher Virgil Coman from Constanța, disclose that approximately 160 people from Durostor and Caliacra Counties find refuge in the Gorj County, after the Cadrilater was ceded to Bulgaria. Most of them originated in the Gorj County and had settled in localities from the Durostor and Caliacra Counties in the third decade of the XXth century,as result of the land reform. Among the refugees there were Romanians coming from other regions of the country, as well as Aromanians. Also, numerous children of the refugees had been born in localities from Cadrilater, prior to the date of 7 September 1940.
