Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the “women commentary literature,” which treats the conditions marking the beginnings of that literature and its later tendencies. Concise bibliographical descriptions provide information about female and male authors and their works which have marked the emergence of so-called Muslim feminism. Also, the work examines new approaches to the Qur’an and the tradition of Islam and urgently calls for stopping to read the sources of Islam as if they are “opposed” to women and hostile to their social role.
