Summary/Abstract: This academic paper consists of two parts. The first part presents a brief biography of sheikh Ibn 'Ajiba al-Hasani which, in addition to basic biographical data concerning his birth, education, spiritual transformation and his influence as a Sufi, also includes a word of Ibn 'Ajiba's teachers and sheikhs as well as some of his most famous works (there are over forty works in total) which he had left behind as his permanent spiritual heritage. The second part of this paper is about Ibn 'Ajiba's commentary on the Holy Qur'an (tafsir) – entirely unique in the whole history of Qur'anic exegesis – titled Al-Bahru l-medid fi Tafsiri l-Qur'ani l-majid (The Immense Ocean in the interpretation of the magnificent Qur'an), i.e. its methodology which actually makes it unique and its Qur'anic and non-Qur'anic sources. At the end, instead of conclusion, we give the Bosnian translation of Ibn 'Ajiba's Introduction to his Qur'anic commentary which, although concise, is very clear and understandable, and twice as interesting: both from the commentational and methodological point of view.
