Summary/Abstract: The main axis of the narration in this article is the analysisof the electoral activity of young Poles from the perspectiveof the formal program of Citizenship Education inthe area of shaping the attitudes of young people as activevoters. The first part of the article presents the contextof Polish civil society and the electoral activity of youngPoles. The Author connects the analyses of youth electoralpatterns to with the assessment of effectiveness of formaleducation, including textbook messages, in shaping anddeveloping civic engagement in youth. The article presentsthe analysis of textbooks for civic education, as wellas indicates some non-textual contexts for implementingcivic education in Poland. The analysis of citizenship educationtextbooks becomes an opportunity to approximatemulti-faceted challenge of shaping civil attitudes amongyoung people in Poland.
