Information security in the company

Summary/Abstract: In today’s world, information is one of the major resources of companies. They are the basis for strategic decision-making, determining to a large extent, the success of companies and operational decisions affecting ensure smooth functioning. Companies must therefore work towards a comprehensive information management, and one of the aspects of management should be to ensure information security. Complex conditions for enterprises, increased competition and the rapid development of information systems mean that without proper physical security and data communications, or not implemented in this regard, organizational and legal companies are exposed to the loss of valuable information. The purpose of this article is to highlight the importance of this issue for businesses and identify potential threats to information security. In this paper based on statistical data for 2010, an analysis of selected aspects of information security in Polish enterprises. Also made threats of information security classification in medium-sized manufacturing company. The analysis put forward proposals on how to reduce the risk of information security in the enterprise.
