Summary/Abstract: An inherent element of the furnishings of early Christian churches was various types of fabrics, among which, due to their wide application and high functionality, veils had a special significance. Hung in entrance doors, in choir barriers, in the ciborium above the altar, in the apse, between the naves, veils had practical, symbolic and decorative functions. This article aims to outline issues related to the use of veils in early Christian churches.
