Summary/Abstract: Since its origins, Western civilization has always been marked by dualism both as a philosophical theory and on a symbolic level. Consistent with its Indo-European roots, the collective imaginary of the West has been influenced by dualism, even though, concerning the contemporary era, it is very difficult to trace some cultural phenomena that have not been conditioned by it.
