Summary/Abstract: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease. From view of vascular system damage , it can be divided to microangiopathy and macroanghiopathy. Single photon emitted computed tomography (SpECT) is a non-invasive, screening examination for detection of small vessels disease, coronary artery disease and diabetic cardiomyopathy. Simultaneous examination of macrocirculation, microcirculation, metabolism and left myocardial ventricle function gives possibility for better treatment. The aim of this study is to point at the importance of myocardial SpECT in diagnostics of coronary artery disease in group of patients with diabetes mellitus and to compare results obtained during SpECT and coronarography.
