Summary/Abstract: This article deals with the problem of changes in the vocabulary of Slavonic canon law texts. The lexicon of canon law texts has been analysed by the researchers I. Bilyarski and A. Pichhadze on the basis of published Old Slavonic texts. As already noted by R.M. Tseytlin for many concepts in Slavonic writings there were already doublets in the 10th–11th century. The author compares the use of individual lexemes in the Commandment by John Chrysostom on church law and in the Ilovitsa kormchaya, and also uses the Efremovska kormchaya and the early Russian version of the Kormchaya. The study of lexical substitutions made by Old Russian writers provides important material for the study of the migration of texts.
