Summary/Abstract: The construction sector is one of the main sectors of the country's economy, which solves important tasks related to the reconstruction of the material base of the entire production potential of the country and the development of non-manufacturing (housing, cultural, social). The speed of recovery from the crisis and the competitiveness of the domestic economy depends mainly on the efficiency of the construction sector. The construction industry, among others, is the basis of the economy and social sphere of a country, region, city, district. The construction sector plays an important role in the economy of any country. For other sectors of the economy, construction is one of the most important and key areas as part of the economic processes involved in the creation and modernization of fixed assets. The efficiency of this sector - the cost of construction, the duration and modernization of fixed assets - determines the ability of the country's economy to grow rapidly and the pace of solving major socio-economic problems. The article examines the development of the construction sector and its role in the development of the national economy. The current situation in the construction industry is summarized, the structure of investments in fixed assets is analyzed. The growth of the construction industry inevitably leads to increasing economic growth in the country and the creation of the necessary conditions for the solution of many social problems. The article also examines the internal and external factors affecting the construction sector. The success of the strategic goal of developing the national economy depends on many factors. It is necessary to create an economic model that can be used for a wide range of problems and can maintain stability in various external conditions. Factors that have a significant impact on future development need to be clearly identified and taken into account when identifying innovative priority areas and promising areas of activity. In modern conditions, it is necessary to identify the root causes and follow them in a timely manner, it is not enough to just deal with the consequences.
