Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to shed light into Medusa (2012), a novel by the Spanish writer Ricardo Menendez Salmón which examines the horror’s representation theme. Focusing on the artist’s moral ambiguity, it is essential to delve into the ambivalence between guilty eyes and unpunished gazes. To this purpose, this study proposes to analyze the different iconic materials (photographs, paintings and films) which the novel integrates on its own narrative style, offering a new perspective about the narrative treatment of horror into contemporary Spanish literature.
