Ideals and Traces of Creativity in the New Spiritual World

Summary/Abstract: The cultural tradition that was preserved and developed in the literature during the Nemanjić dynasty is also manifested in the literature of Podunavlje. Alongside the original principles and forms preserved in its antiquity and its truthfulness in the historical development of Serbian literature, the cultural tradition, in the relocated literary centers, fullfils its role in the spiritual sphere. Former unity of Church and state is manifested through the interconnection of Church and people in the new centers of social life. Serbian civic poetry reached the highest values, both aestethic and spiritual, in its cycles of poems in which the subjects and the motives derive from Evangelical thoughts and feelings.
