Summary/Abstract: It takes extensive practice and revision to achieve excellence in any skill or competence, mastery in a foreign language being no exception here. Indeed, the Latin phrase Repetito est master studiorum can serve as a useful mantra to all language learners and teachers. True as it is, in the reality of the Polish schooling system teachers usually lack time to provide learners with extensive language practice and revision, while students in turn tend to associate them with monotonous drill and kill routines. The aim of the following article is to provide insights into the workings of the human memory, explain why regular revisions are indispensable in successful foreign language learning, how to create optimal conditions for efficient in-class language practice and how to enable active participation of all the learners in revision activities.
