Summary/Abstract: The study of identity as a complex phenomenon is the subject of several scientific disciplines. Although all of these disciplines aspire to reveal and describe the identity in its own integrity as the object of its research grasped at the roots, in fact we can only obtain the clearer and more tangible picture of the identity, or rather its map, by the interdisciplinary analysis of the phenomenon of the identity. The paper relies on the results of linguistic, sociological, anthropological and other researches, and attempts to get an answer of how does the identity function, and which are its components. Furthermore, the paper touches upon the Serbian-Hungarian identities being interweaved among themselves. It illustrates how does the acquisition of the Serbian language influence the development of certain new identity features, namely how does it improve the existing identity in the Hungarian environment, and conversely. The paper deals with those questions of the perception of the identity features that emerge during the foreign language learning, namely its acquiring.
