Summary/Abstract: Writing about Macedonian-Montenegrin relations in the Middle Ages is, basically, writing about the times of Samuil and his successors, when the territory of modern Montenegro was known as Duklja and Zeta, while after the byzantine-bulgarian peace of 927 Macedonia is called “Bulgaria” or “Bulgarian land”. Our attention is focused on establishing a precise chronological framework of the expedition of Samuil to Dalmatia, the marriage of his daughter Kosara to Jovan Vladimir, the ruler of Duklja, as well as the marriage connections of Balsha and Olivera, the daughter of king Volkasin.
