Summary/Abstract: Following the emergence of the action-oriented perspective (PA), several textbooks declaring themselves to this approach are present in the learning of French as a foreign language. In order to analyze the compliance of the manuals with this approach we have chosen two manuals: New Rond-Point Pas à Pas 1 (A1) and Original Version (A1). We made use of three questionnaires; one for tasks, one for projects within the framework of project pedagogy and another for interculturality. According to the results obtained, the New Rond-Point manual aligns itself further with the principles of PA. As for the Original Version manual, even if it departs from the principles quite significantly and certain points require improvement, it is still quite close to the PA in its generality.
