Summary/Abstract: The Women’s League was the most numerous, official and accepted by the communist authorities women’s movement in the Polish People’s Republic. It carried out ideological and propaganda activities within women’s communities, and implemented the official government policy towards women. The Women’s League propagated professional work of women, running of more efficient and modern household, and was to represent interests of different female environments. In the Łódź district, the League was one of the most active and numerous in Poland.
